First of many for Lelei 'o Tonga!
In 2020, I envisioned Lelei 'o Tonga would start selling First Kai kits on the market and offer something new and unique in the booming meal-kit delivery service during the COVID-19 lockdown led by popular brands My Food Bag and HelloFresh. Fast forward three years, multiple lockdowns and vaccinations the honeymoon period for meal-kits is over - everyone is free to eat out where and when they please and not confined to their homes. And if they can't leave their homes, they have the popular food delivery service led by world-famous Uber Eats. So where to for First Kai kits, what should I do next? After several failed attempts to kickstart my idea, I realised after a conversation with one of my lecturers who heard about my business idea I should donate my kits instead. So a few weeks ago, I donated 25 Corned Beef Sapa Sui First Kai kits to AUTSA which helps students in need as part of their Tautoko initiative supporting students' journey at AUT. It was a proud moment and a new start for Lelei 'o Tonga and one I hope to keep doing moving forward. Maybe I can donate to schools, the elderly and outpatients - so many groups of people I can offer the kits to. Now it's only upwards and onwards from here OUANA!!!
